2010 Spring Garden Festival at the Water Conservation Garden

 

Festival Activities at the Water Conservation Garden:

Grand Re-Opening of the Water Conservation Garden’s Amphitheater!

At 10:30am the Garden celebrates its new amphitheater shade structure with County Supervisor Dianne Jacob, the American Dermatological Association, and an exciting performance by percussion movement entertainers, Jr. Crew, of Rubio’s Dance Studio in El Cajon.

Sign up for a 20-minute landscape design consultation with a professional designer or architect for a nominal fee.  Walk-in appointments are offered the day of the event on a first-come, first-serve basis near the Garden’s native plant exhibit.

($15 Members, $20 Non-Members)

Animal Attractions

View Air Superiority’s beautiful birds of prey throughout the day and on the amphitheater stage at 11:45am during the Ms. Smarty Plants Magic of Water Show, and visit the San Diego Zoo booth for a close encounter with exotic animals.

Exhibitors and Vendors

Exhibitors and vendors located throughout the Garden will feature conservation information, gardening-related products, and arts and crafts.

San Diego Watercolor Society

Head over to the Garden’s gazebo from 9am-12:30pm to watch as watercolor artists create colorful paintings using the Garden as inspiration, in the Society’s annual Paint-Out, which celebrates water awareness.

Water Smart Plaza

San Diego water agencies and water smart technology vendors help you save water inside and outside the home.  SDG&E will give away free re-usable shopping bags, energy efficient low-flow shower heads, and faucet aerators for kitchen and bath.

Children’s Activities

Water agency activity booth (All Day) and Face Painting (10am-2pm) at the Water Smart Plaza.
The Magic of Water Show with Ms. Smarty Plants (11:45am in amphitheater)

Opportunity Drawing

Tickets on sale at the Garden’s Water Smart Plaza and the Grand Lawn near the College’s nursery.  Prizes include a Grand Prize Home Landscape Re-Design by Landscape Designer, Linda Whitney, nursery gift certificates, design consultations, and more! Grand prize winner announced at 3:45pm during the event.  Need not be present to win.
